a side-splitting tale

I walked up to the plate tonight at a community softball game eager to show off my hitting and running skills (heavily leaning on the running portion). As I swung the bat I felt something in my side pull and wincingly finished the swing and limped down to first base. I left the game shortly thereafter and have been icing my side until now. So, if anyone has any helpful advice (namely Luke's "Yes, Dear"), I would appreciate it. I think it's just a pulled muscle, but it hurts a lot.

I knew I should have sticked to basketball.

Other than that, life is good. My wife cooked bratwurst, hamburgers, and corn-on-the-cob for myself and a friend Tuesday night that was amazing. She's been working hard lately and stressed out, so I am thankful for the small pleasures of eating with friends and relaxing.

Work is wonderful (well, at least I'm getting paid to clean up after people). We're currently completing carpet cleaning in a guy's dorm at a rate of one floor per day. No telling how my recent injury will hinder me from my most important work.

Stupid softball. I'll try and update Friday with a little deeper post on things I've been dwelling on lately (my baskets - Josh).

p.s. 2005 MVP Baseball (EA Sports) "owner mode" is very addictive. I've raised my Owner status to "B-" from "D" and finally gotten myself out of debt. (Wish I could say the same for real life!!!)

"sticked"? "baskets"? you're sucking in too many cleaning chemicals! get better soon - ice it, always ice a hurt. can't go wrong with icing it.

Josh- you're right, I have been sucking in too many chemicals. It should have read "stuck" and "buckets." Sorry Rob Bell, Jr.
