The sounding board is the part of a string instrument (like a piano) that transmits the vibrations of the strings to the air, greatly increasing the loudness of sound over that of a string alone. It is also a generic name for a group of people bouncing ideas off of each other. This blog gives me a chance to “sound” things out loud and I hope I will be amplified by our interaction.

new camera
My parents bought Joanna and I a new digital camera (Canon Rebel XTi), so we are experimenting with it and the software that was packaged with it. The picture in the header was created with two pictures put together (a fun feature which I'm sure will get used more as we learn it better). Regardless, there will probably be a few more pictures posted in the future. Enjoy!!!

That's a sweet picture on your blog header. Looks like a wide angle lense or something. That's neat that it's actually 2 pictures. --patrick
Yeah- I started trying to do it the low-tech/geeky way, using "Paint," after several pictures worth of editing cropping and cussing, I finally realized that there was a program called "Stitch-it" that came with the new camera- it does it all for you, makes the pictures the same brightness, overlaps them at the right place, smooths out the overlap, and crops it for you!!! Technology's great.
