The sounding board is the part of a string instrument (like a piano) that transmits the vibrations of the strings to the air, greatly increasing the loudness of sound over that of a string alone. It is also a generic name for a group of people bouncing ideas off of each other. This blog gives me a chance to “sound” things out loud and I hope I will be amplified by our interaction.

the suspense is over (and it didn't kill me)
So, after two plus months of planning, Joanna's surprise birthday party happened today. However, since Joanna found out about it through a subject line that read "re: let the planning begin" in my email inbox 2 months ago, it wasn't much of a surprise. (I guess the real surprise would have been us actually surprising Joanna!) It was such a fun time, though, with friends and family (both sides) all in the same place & Joanna enjoyed her 30th birthday! All the kids running around and babies crying and sleeping were just amazing. Anyway, there are some pictures on my flickr page (you can get there by clicking on the link at the right/top of this blog), so enjoy.
