long time comin'

Thanks to all the bloggers who recently posted for the first time in a long time (you know who you are)... you make me feel better about myself and not alone in the blogosphere.
So, to start off the new year of blogging I thought I'd give a shout out to the person who is making life possible for me at the moment (quite literally actually). Since I am in seminary full time, I am only working a part-time job (thank you First Alliance for employing me), which covers my tuition - along with a little help from some scholarships. My wife, however, is teaching full-time at Warner Elementary (Go Wildcats!!) which finances all the other aspects of our life. Currently, she is teaching 4th grade, which is not an easy or favorite grade of Joanna's, and to help us get out of debt quicker, she has taken on two extra-curricular teaching assignments which she gets paid for. Over the last few weeks, I randomly had to drive her to work when her car decided to thumb its nose at us. I regained an appreciation for all my wife does for us. She routinely leaves the house at 6:20am and returns home most days after 5:20pm (call me crazy, but that's more than an eight hour work day). Plus, it is not unusual to find Joanna at home "watching" (wink wink) episode 11 / season 4 of JAG while grading papers or writing lesson plans. In the fall, she also went to many sporting events and other activities "her kids" were involved in, showing the extent she goes to be the best teacher possible. Through it all she still finds time with me to read scripture, pray, and talk; cook (cause i'd burn down our apartment complex if I tried); and spend time with friends at a moments notice. She is an inspiration to me and I am indebted to her goodness, kindness, and hard work.

** Currently, it is 7:32pm and Joanna is not home yet. This is a hard week for her, so give her a little love and lift her up in prayer. Oh, and season 5 of JAG was recently released.... Valentine's Day is coming... I'm just sayin'...
