So, for post #200 (wow!), here's a little encouragement for families with kids.
Families that play board games with their kids weekly "helped improve the children’s concentration, social interaction and co-operation with siblings. It also boosted their patience, concentration, teamwork, sharing, social interaction, communication, sportsmanship, critical thinking skills, maths and spelling" (http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,25948025-662,00.html). A shocking amount of these kids initiated this same activity as they got older, proving that digital media doesn't own the world.
Thank you mom and dad for making me play Monopoly, Battleship, Scrabble, and many other games. I enjoyed these so much and obviously have become the genius I am today by way of these games. Branching out from just board games, I still have memories of playing poker with pennies with my family.
So, pick up a board game this week and play it with a kid - or neighbor (I just played Clue with Joe & Karen - thanks guys it was fun).

Nice Dan! Ms. White with the rope! My all time favorite is Balderdash!
does texas hold 'em count? because i've been teaching noah, and he's raking it in at prek these days... only kid in his class that knows that a flush isn't just for potty training.
