My Truck

Well, it's back up and running- thank goodness. I felt like I was back in High School having to ask my mom to borrow the car (because that's what I did then and throughout this past week). So many people helped me out- our secretary, custodian, music minister, parents, joanna, and Greg.

Greg ended up working his tail off to get my master cylinder replaced, slave cylinder replaced, clutch replaced, and flywheel sanded. To do all of this, he had to take out the transmission (the slave cylinder is inside the transmission in the ford ranger) & replace it, not an easy task, and put up with my ignorance on vehicles & tools. Several times he just laughed at me, but we made it through (actually, he made it through in spite of me). So, after almost 13 hours of labor in three days, my truck is back to normal. Greg is my hero & the savior of my wallet.

Hopefully, this will be my last truck update for a while (cross my fingers- hope to die, wait a second, why would I want to do that?).

Reading Update: So, last night, I finished reading "Restoring The Jewishness of the Gospel" by David Stern (see picture to right). It was a very enlightening book, though the title could have been "Restoring Jewishness to Christianity" as the book was more than just about the jewish background of the gospels. It went through the relationship Christians are supposed to have with Jews, the relationship God has with Jews, the differences in laws and expectations that God has for Messianic Jews and Gentile Christians. I need to read this through again (it was short) so that I can truly begin to restore the Jewishness in my life, not just read some interesting information. The only difficulty lies in Stern's use of Hebrew & Greek words - he doesn't always define them, give the English version, or give you context clues in proximity of the use. They are mostly defined in the back of the book, but I kept forgetting or losing my train of thought as I flipped to the back and read the definition. This is probably a showing of my lack of knowledge rather than a fault of the author or book.

Haven't we reached the point in our society where we can call it the "indentured servent" cylinder?

Glad to hear about your truck. And I'll be updating my blog soon, I promise.
