move over david crowder (well, only a little bit)

I bought a cd about two weeks ago which has been so great I've been singing tunes from it each day as I'm scrubbing toilets and vaccuming. Todd Agnew's "Reflection of Something". The highlights of the cd are the songs taken from hymns: "Blood on my hands" was inspired and contains parts of "Jesus, Keep Me Near The Cross" by Francis Crosby. A great version of "It is Well" closes out the cd. Though these are great, my favorite song is "Always There" because in the middle of the song, it breaks down and the music stops completely for several seconds while Todd sings (with his unique voice): "Can You hear me... can You hear me calling" Both the silence of the music and the words together make a powerful impact. Of course, I also like "My Jesus" and "Unchanging One."
So, all in all, great cd and will be listening to it for weeks and months (maybe even centuries) to come.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, I'm still mourning the break in from my truck (which occurred back in July). Today, I missed several of my cd's that were taken during that horrendous act of mutilation to a beautiful piece of machinery. Pink Floyd, Sister Hazel, and Stevie Ray Vaughan are all in someone else's cd player right now not being appreciated as much as they were in mine. (What's funny is of all my cd's, these were the ones in my truck when I was a youth director- appropriate for my position, huh?!?)

So, enjoy listening to some of Todd's songs on his myspace site or pure volume site.

Joanna Update: Several posts ago, I mentioned that Joanna was having problems with her ears. Since that post, she went to a first doctor (who told a nurse privately, where Joanna could still hear that Joanna needed to have surgery, but he wasn't going to tell her that- and then offered to make out a prescription for anything she wanted- can we say "illegal"?). She then went to another doctor this week and found out that the problems stem from allergies and there is no cause for any type of surgery. Joanna's feeling better and hearing better- though not all the way there yet. Thank you for your prayers.

What a great blog name. It is kind of sad I really only see you when you are in my dorm. Maybe we will have to try and fix that sometime this semester.
