The sounding board is the part of a string instrument (like a piano) that transmits the vibrations of the strings to the air, greatly increasing the loudness of sound over that of a string alone. It is also a generic name for a group of people bouncing ideas off of each other. This blog gives me a chance to “sound” things out loud and I hope I will be amplified by our interaction.

hunk of wood
I've never thought I've been too attached to things, but as I have just sold my second love (see pictures below) I feel a little bit of loss. My first words to Joanna after it walked out the door, was that I needed a little alone time (I was only half-joking). When I finalized the deal through email last night, I had this "uh-oh" moment where I briefly felt I had done something stupid. I still have Joanna's trusty Alvarez, so I'll make it through this tough period somehow. That and knowing we are that much closer to being debt free is well worth it.

Wow, I remember when you bought that thing. I know that was a tough call, but way to man up for your family.
sigh...
[tear, sniff]
wailing and gnashing of teeth over here in New England.
:(
you're a great man. always have been.
I sold one of my first 'real' drums in order to pay for Kara's engagement ring and wedding bands in cash. I had that 'uh-oh' moment too - thinking about the day I got it and how long I saved up for it. But it was well worth the reward :) I always liked that guitars wood grain.
I received an unexpected scholarship in the mail for a little more than what I sold the guitar for this past week. Don't know if that makes me feel better or worse.
