"Faith is conviction of truth, one so deep that, far from believing without knowing, faith always seeks knowledge. It is always willing to face the evidence, entertain doubt, and inquire as far as truth may lead it" (19).
Dykstra, Craig. Growing in the Life of Faith (2nd Edition). Louisville, KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2005.
What a wonderful expression of our faith. So often Christians are portrayed as closed-minded and with a forget-the-facts mentality and are not taken seriously. If we began to have a faith like Dykstra defines it, I believe we would gain more respect and be better, deeper Christians because of it.
