prayer for children, part II

Many months ago, I posted "prayer for children." I ended up not finishing this project for two reasons: time & I made it too difficult, trying to fit everything into one prayer. Through the past three months, rather than putting pen to paper, I just began singing acapello prayers to Isaiah and this song developed out of it. If I can find a way to sing it and record it, I'll post it here (I'm very proud of this little tune). No title at this point - that's always the hardest part of writing poems for me (any suggestions?).
There are some allusions to biblical themes and scripture within this short song, but I'll leave it for you to make the connections for yourself.

what I saw in 'Outlook' today

About 9 months ago I entered this "event" into Outlook, which syncs with my phone. So, as I looked at my phone this morning, I saw a notice that "Baby Danjo due" tomorrow. Woo-woo!!! If only he'll obey my 9 month old command!

I've found that the waiting is not difficult for me (he'll come when he's ready), but it is in watching Joanna deal with these hard days of pregnancy. So, I'm anxious for her and ready for him to come so that she is relieved.

Don't get me wrong- I can't wait to hold him and pray over him in person.

One of my projects for my Spiritual Formation class includes writing a prayer-poem/song for Isaiah (our son due to be born in June).
For those of you with your own children...
For those of you who know kids that you care about...
What do you pray for them?
I'd like advice not only for this project, but for myself as a father.

Jesus Prayer

Lately I've been praying a certain prayer a lot:
Jesus, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.
It speaks to me in my business, in my failures, in my doubts, in my needs. It reminds me I am only human and not fully in control. It reminds me that Jesus is God, that he is in control and that I can trust him.
