As I'm starting this process of seminary, part of my 'supposed call to ministry' (I've always found that phrase strange), I found this quote encouraging:
“We are not primarily called to do something or go somewhere; we are called to Someone. We are not called first to special work but to God. The key to answering the call is to be devoted to no one and to nothing above God himself” ("The Call" by Os Guinness, page 43).
I'm called by God to be His child first and foremost. Everything else is a response to that- including a vocation in ministry and backpacking through the Appalachian Trail enjoying God's creation.
May I follow that call always- no matter my job.

anyone who chooses to follow Jesus has a 'supposed call to ministry'. -some just happen to express that/follow that within the context of vocation. everyone is called.
and any call to ministry eventually boils down to giving to others what God has given to you (ie: we are blessed to be a blessing), so we MUST be called to God in order that we may recieve that which we will in turn pass on to others.
and if you ever backpack the AT, you better freakin' invite me!
